Introduction to Assembler translation
The Translation feature is part of the “Assembler Online” tool capability that makes the localization process easier. Assembler is an MSD tool and the company owns the rights, it is synchronized with Veeva Vault PromoMats and no extra license is required, either for internal employees, partners or external agencies.
The goal of this improved Assembler Online feature is to increase the re-usability of our company materials. The translation proccess happens in Veeva Vault PromoMats, Assembler and optionally can include a Translation Tool managed by a translation agency, in order to fulfill our company’s compliance standards.
Clarifying note: Assembler does not auto-translate and it is not a content translation software.
Assembler Online has two methods for translation:
- Translate using Assembler & an Agency: The agency would manage the translation with the usage of a standard content file, formated as .xliff, a common format in the translation industry. This file is ready to be worked in translation softwares, and through Assembler Online can be exported and then be imported back with the translated content version, retaining the promotional material layout and styles, avoiding copying and pasting or re-designing and allowing the translation agency gain efficiency using their translation softwares.
- Translate in-line using Assembler: The job owner/content creator would translate the content directly typing in the material inside the Assembler tool. The content translation could be facilitated by the “Machine translation” application offered by our Global translation supplier.
We would also had the advantage of adding local edits through Assembler, as easy as typing or dragging and dropping in local salutations, email footers etc (just like powerpoint). The final exported promotional material wouldn’t only be a .pdf ready for the medical review and annotation work in PromoMats, but also would have the HTML production files for deployment, including the requirements for the delivery platforms (Veeva CLM, Approved Email, SFMC Email, banner ads. etc.).
