Automated translations in PromoMats
Introducing daily translations of approved non-English Material documents into English to help users identify content that is relevant and appropriate for reuse.
When a translation is available for a Material, it will show as an option in the Source File dropdown and be labelled ‘English Machine Translation’.
All newly AFD Materials will be translated within 24 hours.
The Translated Viewable Rendition will have a Watermark: ‘This is machine translated. This is not Approved for Distribution.’ reminding users that the content must be approved by local reviewers.
Markets should ‘Make a Copy’ and proceed with their localization process. Using the ‘Make a Copy’ feature in PromoMats is important because it identifies why a Material has been copied, that helps to get accurate metrics on content reuse and facilitating content traceability.
The Materials currently translated correspond to those AFD during the year 2023. In the coming months, we plan to include the AFD Materials approved in 2022.
Please note: The use of layers in PDF files negatively impacts the translation quality. Translations will not be provided for Materials:
- already in English
- when Country : GHQ
- when subtype: Training, Artbank, Regulatory documents, Market Access, Internal communication
- when Audience: for Internal Use
- when Resource Type: Agenda or any file over 20 MB, audio files or video files. The use of layers in PDF files negatively impacts the translation quality.
