Assembler Online 8.5 Release Notes
Check this video overview some of the new enhancements included in this new release.
XLIFF based Translation
- The translation menu is displayed if the user makes a copy and changes the country and language or just language.
- Export will generate an XLIFF file that can be sent to a translation vendor. All Assembler components are supported.
- Import will load the translation. User can toggle between both languages.
- All styles will be retained as possible. Some style overrides will not carry forward and will need to be re-applied. Text may be shorter/longer in new language. Such formatting adjustments can be made in the translated view.
- Before new translated components are created, duplicate checking is performed.
- Check on existing translation is performed: if image/reference has translation with the same country and language as target project, then its used. If such items have not been found, the next step check is performed
- On the next step check checksum is checked: an image is considered a duplicate if the following are the same: source checksum, language, country and product.
- All other components are considered a duplicate if the source checksum is the same
- Can use PromoMats workflow if agency has access
Grouped Layouts (GL)
- A whole section of RL’s can be saved together in a group as a GL.
- GL’s are simply an ordered set of RL’s.
- GL’s are listed on the same Asset Panel list, but are differentiated by a yellow dot
- The name of the GL is displayed on the top right for easy identification.
- When a GL is used in the SSI element, all the RL’s can scroll together. The first RL (for example in a header) can be frozen in place.
Reusable Layouts (RL)
- Enable save before initial thumbnail is created
- Generate a new thumbnail when RL is updated
- Save RL changes on Upload to PromoMats/Draft
- Show notification when fonts do not match when RL is dropped in a project
- Keep unsaved updates when RL is deleted from artboard
